Hello…

More 15-24 year-olds go to the cinema than any other age group and yet, searching for reviews online, I struggled to find a platform aimed at or written by teenagers.

For me and perhaps other teens too, film offers a way to escape into a different story during what can be a confusing and disorientating time. From absurdist comedy to intense emotional drama, it’s a chance to experience an alternative reality for a short while.

So I hope to provide a blog that presents a teenage perspective and a useful guide for teens.

More about me…

I’m a recent graduate from UCL (University College London) with a degree in History and English, with a passion for independent filmmaking, female-led stories and slow cinema. Although no longer a teenager, I continue to contribute to this blog as a space to write about the films I love (despite the increasingly inaccurate title, for which I plead editorial mischief).

I’ve written for Bristol 24/7 magazine, and my article 'Why we need more women behind the camera' won a special commendation at the Writing Wrongs young writers’ course. An edited version has since been published in Rife Magazine.

I’m a BFI Film Academy graduate, and have interned at BAFTA-winning Big Talk Studios and worked for Amy Hubbard Casting and Island Pictures. I also produce short films and theatre productions, which you can read more about here.
